From my home in Brittany, one of the most well known and unique traditional garments worn to this day are the coiffe bigoudène. These are the tall headdresses worn along with Breton garments of the region. Together, the women who wear the coif and dresses are known as "bigoudènes". Each lace coif is unique to the various regions of Brittany they were made and were a very important part of of Frances socioeconomic heritage. For me, it was a beautiful representation of my home and the history it carries with it.
